There was an experiment performed in the area of quantum physics by researcher Paul Persall. This study showed the physiological effects of giving on the human brain. Through studying brain activity it was proven that when a person extends kindness to another it naturally increases the production of endorphins in the “giver’s” brain. Furthermore, it was proven that it also increases the endorphins in the brain of the “receiver.” Most surprisingly, however, was that one act of generosity even extended to increase endorphins in the brain of a third party “observer” as well. This study is scientific proof that human brains are wired for kindness and giving. We were created to give as we have been given.

From “A Course in Miracles”

“Miracles are healing because they supply a lack; they are performed by those who temporarily have more for those who temporarily have less.  Miracles are a kind of exchange.  Like all expressions of love, which are always miraculous in the true sense, the exchange reverses physical laws.  They bring more love both to the giver and the receiver.”
